Water For All: A basic human right
Across the world, 2.1 billion are still unable to access safe drinking water. For those living in poverty or in developing countries, poor sanitation facilities and lack of access to safe drinking water continue to be a major threat to life and livelihood. Everyone has the right to water, everyone has the right to life.
Donate to our water for life appeal today.
We believe in water for all.
It’s hard to believe that so many people still do not have access to safe drinking water.
Across the world, a staggering 2.1 billion people live each day at risk of disease and death simply because they cannot access clean water. (UN)
At Muslim Aid, our water fund strives to address this issue by providing vulnerable communities around the globe with safe, clean and easy-to-access drinking water. It’s these basic necessities which play a key role in helping developing nations grow and thrive, allowing for increased independence and decreased demand on the limited healthcare available.
A basic human right.
As a leading Muslim water charity, your donation to our Global Water Appeal will go directly to saving lives. We utilise your generous contributions to deliver WASH projects across the globe (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), building solar powered water stations, Rainwater harvesting systems, water wells, water pumps and sanitation services to reduce disease and death.
Our water programme is global, working across multiple countries and delivering water solutions to people in the greatest of need. From the conflict zones of Gaza where basic services have been destroyed, to remote communities in Somalia living with extreme drought, to the refugee camps of Jordan where deprivation is rife – your generosity can help us protect people and quench their thirst.
Rafah Primary School, Gaza
This small but busy primary school for boys in the Southern Gaza strip desperately needed access to clean water. Pupils and their families were suffering from illness and were at risk of dehydration. In May 2019, Muslim Aid installed a solar-powered water station delivering 1000 litres of fresh, safe water each day.
Your donation to our Global Water appeal can help communities such as Rafah Primary, improving the lives of hundreds of people.
Can Zakat Be Used to Build a Water Well, Pump or Sanitation Service?
Infrastructure projects are valid as Zakat payments as long as the beneficiaries are eligible. Our Zakat water wells and water pumps meet these criteria, providing essential support to some of the poorest and most vulnerable members of our society.
An essential life source.
The donation you give could help us build pipelines, latrines, water stations or dig a well. These can serve schools, villages or entire communities, bring hope and giving life.
Donate to our Islamic Global Water Fund now and your giving can be recognised as Sadaqah Jariyah – a charity that continues to benefit others, saving more and more lives each day.
Without you, we can’t continue to serve humanity. By setting up a regular gift today you can help make an ongoing difference to the lives of those in the greatest of need, saving lives and transforming communities for good.
From supporting young children into education, providing long-term water solutions to drought effected communities, to giving women opportunities to earn a living to provide for their families. Supporting our long-term sustainable programmes, with a regular gift can help us in our fight against poverty.
